OFFICIAL REGULATIONS — OBCINIADA CLIMBING FESTIVAL

IN. General

  • Obciniada Climbing Festival is an outdoor sporting event aimed at climbing and bouldering enthusiasts.
  • Disclaimer: Signing it is mandatory when registering. For online registrations, this is considered signed by ticking the box: “I agree with the rules of the event and take responsibility, according to the declaration of my own responsibility.”
  • As the date of the event approaches, we will return with details & clarifications related to the areas where it will be going every day.
  • The following climbing areas currently exist in Gura Humorului:
    - The stones of Maghernița, accessible from the national road (Voronet, Gura Humorului), on forest road and mountain path, taking about 40 minutes.
    - Piatra Şoimului, access is made on the blue cross route starting from the suspended bridge in Ariniș Park, taking about 20 minutes
    - Pietrele Doamnei- Cotu' Buhii- Playhouse

II. Subscriptions

1. Validation of entries

  • Registration becomes valid after confirmation of payment of the registration fee.
  • The presentation of an identity document is mandatory when picking up the participation kit.

2. Cancellation of an enrolment

  • Reimbursement of the fee is made in part, by recreating the bank account associated with the card used, according to the conditions established by the organizers
  • Until February 1 - 100%
    Until April 30 - 50%
    After May 1 - 0%

3. Name changes

  • Transferring the registration of a participant to another person is possible, and does not involve costs. Any changes of this type must be sent to the organizers by e-mail (contact@obciniada.ro), but not later than May 10, 2025.

4. Force majeure

  • In the event of the start of the event, the registration fee is non-refundable.
  • In cases of force majeure (extreme weather, natural disasters, emergencies), the organizers may decide to cancel or postpone the event, without the obligation to refund the registration fee. Organizers can offer alternatives (voucher for another event, rescheduling, etc.).

III. Escalation Regulation

  • Climbing on your own responsibility: All participants must climb solely at their own risk. The organizers are not responsible for accidents or injuries.
  • Only for experienced climbers: Participation is only allowed for experienced climbers who:
    - I know how to spin safely.
    - They are able to climb rope head routes of at least grade 6A.
  • Wearing a helmetClimbers must wear helmets at all times in the climbing area. The helmet can only be lowered if the participants are at least 5 meters from the climbing wall.
  • Respect:
    - Do not climb a route occupied by another person.
    - Always check that you are not standing directly under someone who is climbing.
    - Observe the order of entry to the routes.
  • “Buddy check”:
    - Make sure all equipment is in good condition and used correctly.
    - Check each other with your partner before entering a route to make sure that the knot on the harness is made correctly, the spinning device is used correctly, and the carabiner is properly closed.

IV. Bouldering Regulation

  • Restrictions on participation:
    - Boulder is only allowed in a group of at least two people for safety.
    - Inexperienced outdoor boulder participants can only climb with experienced people.
  • General Safety:
    - Spotting is mandatory, with emphasis on protecting the head and neck.
    - Boulder mattresses should be strategically placed to minimize the risk of injury.
    - Each participant is responsible to inform themselves and be prepared for safe spotting and bouldering.
  • Use of trails:
    - Only one person is allowed on a route at a time.
    - Keep a safe distance from active climbers.

IN. Personal data protection policy

  • Details of the processing of personal data collected during registration will be found in the privacy policy published on the official website of the event.
  • Participants have the right to request access, correction or deletion of their personal data, according to the legislation in force.
  • Consent to the use of images and videos of participants is granted upon registration in the competition.

VI. Rules of conduct

  • Respect for nature: The festival promotes ecological awareness and conservation of natural spaces. All participants must act responsibly and reduce the impact on the environment.
  • Take care of the environment: Do not leave waste behind you, clean and take all the waste with you.
  • Respect for others: Treat participants, organizers and residents of the area with respect.
  • Compliance with instructions: Follow all the guidelines and instructions provided by the organizers and volunteers of the festival.

VII. Other provisions

  • The organizers reserve the right to change the schedule or other organizational details, if the situation so requires, with prior notice of the changes occurring on the available media channels.
  • Participants are required to comply with all directions provided by organizers, volunteers and security personnel.
