Obciniada is a derivative of the word “obcin”, a relief form specific to Bucovina. It represents an elongated hill or mountain ridge that joins two peaks.

About the region
Bukovina, with its domoal roundness and its dense forest and rain air, remains a place of rare beauty, where the soul rests and man feels at home. Here, between springs, spruce forests and clouds rumbling on the ridges, the mountain trails invite you to a breath of fresh air, and every corner of nature makes room for you to sit and marvel.
If you are careless, the peaks could deceive you, seeming to be easy to pass. But every Bukovinian knows that once you set out on the road you discover unsuspected steepness, high boulders up to the treetops and endless valleys.
In Obcini, people learned from nature the craft of receiving. There is always time for a story told at the stove, between the crackling wood and the steam of the polenta, or for a rich meal with boiling pots, the recipes of which only grandmothers remember.
This gathering of good people makes you better understand that traditions are not just to be preserved, but to be lived and shared, at the dull pace of the place.
Bukovina is passed by many, but lived by few. Come and feel it with all its buzz, in running and singing, in the joy of the road, with a light heart and with good people gathered together. We will walk you hand in hand through it, like an old friend back home.

Sustainability
Obciniada is the first festival in Bucovina that puts sustainability at the heart of the human experience.
We want the adventures experienced by each of you to be real and responsible. From reducing waste to using environmentally friendly materials, every decision we make takes into account the future of our surroundings and the planet. We want Obciniada to be a celebration for all, but also an example of how we can watch over the place that hosts us.
Mountain sports
As people of the mountains, I took a liking to their paths and stones. At Obciniada, we brought together bicycles, running shoes and espadrilles, thinking of an experience for everyone.
We want to grow the sports community in the surrounding area and support all categories of participants. That is why we are happy to organize races dedicated to children and offer fair prizes in the adult categories. The three sports activities within the festival are ready to welcome you, as well as the unpaved paths you will discover.
Community
Here, every man has a longing - to be together, authentically and with purpose. That's why we keep our local artisans and producers close, integrate them into our story and show you how cool it is that comes out of their hands.
We work mostly with local producers and entrepreneurs, bringing the community together, and helping each other. We want to have a festival at home, with people from home. We cannot control our enthusiasm for what they have prepared to reach your plates and homes.

Ariniș Dendrological Park
Before stepping into the heart of the festival, you are greeted by the Gate of Kiss, an old tribute to the beginning of the journey, an invitation to find yourself in the lands of Bucovina. After crossing the threshold of this stone and wooden gate, you find yourself on a wide pasture, where a stone road, guarded by tall thuja, leads you to the Ariniș Inn, a wooden inn with traditional accents, bearing in every corner the memory of the craft of sculpture.
This location is a living space, where nature and tradition intertwine to create the perfect setting for Obciniada. It is the place where runners, cyclists, climbers, music and dance lovers meet, enjoy and, above all, pass on what they have received.

Obciniada And Save The Children
Obciniada is not only about music and good will, but also about doing good! We have all gathered, mountain, village and city people, to do good where it is most needed. Together with Save the Children Iasi, we lend a helping hand to the little ones who are struggling to stay in school and make a better path. As a non-profit festival, the fruits of Obciniada go back to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
At the festival, you will be able to learn more about the Save the Children projects, about their tireless work and how each of us can leave a ray of light in the world.

Through the Sustainable Lands Association, we aim to carry forward the spirit of Obciniada, supporting the development of sport and sustainable tourism in Bucovina. We believe that movement and nature can unite communities and change places. Everything we do is to keep Bucovina alive, authentic and full of good energy.
The association's mission is to support the development of active and responsible communities by promoting cultural acts, mountain sports and a sustainable lifestyle.
